- Twine lantern
Twine lanterns are an easy and cute decoration for parties. They are super cheap to make.
You’ll need:
- Scissors
- Twine
- Needle
- Super glue
- Balloon
- Corn starch
- Hot water
- viii. Mixing bowl
Start off by dumping half a cup of corn starch in a mixing bowl. Then you’re going to add 1/4th a cup of hot water. Dissolve the corn starch in the water really well. Once you have the corn starch dissolved you’re going to add your glue in the mixture. Dip your twine in this mixture and inflate a balloon as big as you’d like your lantern to be. Start wrapping the balloon with your twine and make sure that it’s tight. Once you have a generous amount of twine wrapped around the balloon you want to leave it overnight to dry. Once it’s dry you want to take a needle and pop the balloon with it. Use your scissors to cut the balloon and take it out of the lantern. You can either put these lanterns on light or you can just hang them up by themselves. Either way they’ll look great.
