An Efficient Kitchen

The kitchen is at the heart of the home. It’s where you spend the most of your time and it’s the space where the family eats but also where meals are prepared so it needs to be well laid out. If a kitchen is laid out in such a way that it makes it easier to manoeuvre around, you will be happier and less stressed as a cluttered kitchen space will only make food preparation more difficult.

Much focus needs to put into thinking out the design that will suit you best. Perhaps you are constrained by budget or by space so there’s a lot to think about. Inclusion of an island in the kitchen can use up some redundant space and add some extra counter space or storage space.

There are a number of kitchen shapes to choose from and again these will depend on the size of the space you have to work with. Smaller spaces work well with galley kitchens for example.

This info-graphic from Noel Dempsey Kitchen & Bedroom Design gives a good indication of all the things you need to consider in order to have the kitchen of your dreams but also one that will make your life run more smoothly when preparing food…check it out below!

  1. I am recently married and I have quickly realized how disorganized I am in the kitchen. I can’t seem to accomplish anything very efficiently while I’m in the kitchen. Thank you so much for your article on how to create an efficient kitchen. I think I will implement your idea of having a kitchen island to create more counter space and storage.
