Mold spots on the walls

Due to our busy schedules at school or at work, we sometimes forget to clean our walls which lead on creating and having some mold spots in it. Mind you, having these molds on our walls is difficult to clean, especially when it has been already there for a long period of time.

Well, you can just fix it on your own by taking a look on the toilet’s tank and checking it if the water is overflowing into the vertical tube. If so, you have to lower the water level in the tank by bending the arm on the float downward or squeeze the adjustment clips and slide the float down.

If the rubber diaphragm at the bottom of the tank is broken, then you have to replace it with a new one. Just make sure that you have to turn off the water supply for as not to waste more of your water.

A dent in the wall

One of the dangerous things to have in our home is having a dent in the wall. It is easier to make a wall to break down when it is triggered by a weak wall, and you don’t want that to happen in your homes. Right?

Most of us, if not all overlooked this kind of situation since the crack that they have might be small and it may not cause major damages. However, the more you leave it as it is, the weaker your wall will be since it is not properly addressed.

Easy fix: For you to fix a dent in your wall, all you have to do is wedge a wad of newspaper into the dent while leaving it about a ¼-inch gap between the paper and the rim of the hole. You can use a putty knife to fill the gap with joint compound and then smooth it with the blade. For the finishing, you have to leave it dry for 24 hours and paint the spot.

  1. I think a lot of these problems can actually cause water damage if not fixed. This article has some great ideas to help with a leaking washing machine and a running toilet. Thanks for the great advice to use.

  2. I definitely agree that you should check the hoses around your washing machine before you call a repairman. If this is the problem it is an easy fix. I would also recommend checking the drain pipe to make sure it isn’t clogged. However, if it is neither of these problems, then it is time to call for help or get a new washer.

  3. This stuff is very helpful. A leaky washing machine can really be a problem. Water damage can be a serious issue and Mold is actually a bio hazard. I am not really good at fixing things so I ended up having to go to a local Fort Lauderdale service.

  4. I’m like Lisa! This stuff is very helpful but I’m not great at DIY stuff and I am always busy. I read the article but still ended up using a local handyman service.
