[Infographic] 2016 Hardwood Flooring Customer Preference Survey

The team over at MacDonald Hardwoods spoke to 205 interior designers across the United States about what they are currently recommending to their customers, what their customers are requesting from the designers, and what trends are being seen in flooring and design in 2016.

When we were sifting through the results, we found only 44% of the surveyed interior designers said they use mostly solid hardwood flooring, when flooring is a part of a home redesign, instead of engineered hardwood. This is surprising because that number is down from 67% in our 2015 hardwood flooring customer preference survey. However, we did also find that 76% of these same interior designers said they would recommend solid hardwood flooring for homes with pets. Comparing that to the 23% that said they would choose engineered flooring! And last year, in 2015, 78% of the interior designers we surveyed said they would prefer to use hardwood flooring throughout the home, instead a few accent rooms. This year, that number went down to 63%.

So, if you’re excited like we were and you’re ready to see the results, take a look and see what the experts had to say!
