Another very common cause of a clogged drain is foreign objects or debris gumming up the works. The longer that the debris is left in the drain, the more damage that you will have contend with in the long run. Usually, this debris is things like hair or soap build up. You need to make sure that you put screens in all of your drains in order to reduce the amount of debris in your drains. Be sure to speak with the professional that you hire to see what else you can do to keep these types of clogs from happening.

Yet another very common cause of having clogged drains is improper installation of the plumbing from the start. In order to make sure that your plumbing is in great condition, you will have to get an experienced professional to install your pipes for you. Make sure that you research your area in order to find the right plumber for your installation. 1. Reading this post makes me think that the problem with my pipes is that I never call a professional plumber… thanks for mentioning this fact

  2. These are some great tips, and I appreciate your advice to call a professional plumber if your drains start to have problems. I thought drain problems were because of clogging, and I didn’t realize that it could also be due to compromised pipes! My kitchen sink has been backing up a little bit recently, so I’ll definitely call in a plumber to have it inspected. Thanks for the great post!

  3. I like your suggestion to install screens to catch debris from going down the pipes. We’ve definitely got a hair problem in our shower, and I’ve noticed that over the years they’ve drained slower and slower. I know that we’re going to need to call in some professionals and let them work their magic because the backup is starting to get pretty bad! And then, I shall have them install the screens so we can prevent future issues.

  4. Thanks for sharing the above post with us. We can get rid of the clogged drains if we take care of the above things.

  5. Great article. One thing I know for sure is that clogged drains can stop a party before it starts. Dirt, food, and sludge build up in pipes causing a barrier to drainage and a build-up of waste in your home.

  6. Great post! I hope this would be seen by homeowners that would make them realize that calling a plumber is very important when it comes to plumbing. I am not against DIY plumbing but if you would realize that it might cause more damage than good especially on major issues.
